Eco Loose Fill Vs Other Fill Materials

Most common void fill materials like polystyrene, paper, or air pillows, eco loose fill generally offers better cushioning and shock absorption. Air pillows and bubble wrap are great for fragile items, but require inflation equipment and are often made from plastics that aren't recyclable.

Eco loose fill is plant-based, biodegradable, and compostable, making it much kinder to the environment. It's also lightweight, easy to handle, and extremely versatile.

Loose Fill That's Kind to the Environment

The raw materials, manufacturing process, and recyclability are all environmentally superior to those of polystyrene loose fill. Eco loose fill is made from annually renewable corn starch that is 100% home and industrial compostable. This ensures it complies with EN13432, a European standard that defines the requirements for packaging to be compostable and biodegradable.

Our eco loose fill is also reusable and can be recycled back into nature at the end of its life. Polystyrene is an oil-based, single-use plastic that is neither biodegradable nor easily recyclable.
